It is located in the centre of Ayala Valley next to the Tower House of Quejana, a heritage point of interest; its landscape has made it a reference for those who love environmental and cultural tourism.
The guided visits to Artziniega are especially worth mentioning, a town that stands out thanks to its historic quarter, Ethnological museum and Medieval Market. So are the hikes to the Salvada Mountain Range and the Waterfall of river Nervión and Mount Santiago. The Historic Quarter of Orduña with its Custom's building, currently a modern and unique Spa, are also worth mentioning.
Despite being surrounded by nature, it is close to Bilbao (23 km), Vitoria and San Sebastian, with easily accessible roads.
Access: From Vitoria, take the AP-68 motorway until the Amurrio exit and, after crossing the municipality, continue along the A-624 secondary road Amurrio-Balmaseda to Menagarai. Once there, go to the neighbourhood of Mendieta. From Bilbao and San Sebastian, take the A-8 motorway up to Balmaseda and then continue towards Artziniega-Menagarai.
Public transport: line 61 (Artziniega-Amurrio-Vitoria) of bus company La Unión and line A3341 (Bilbao-Sodupe-Respaldiza) of Bizkaibus take you to Menagarai.
